515 judoka from 64 countries to participate in the World Judo Championships Juniors Individuals 2024 in Dushanbe

Dushanbe will host the World Judo Championships Juniors Individuals 2024 this year from October 2 to October 6.  An agreement on holding these chairmanships in Dushanbe was signed in Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent on March 3 this year.  

515 athletes from 64 countries of the world ae expected participate in this tournament.

Tajikistan will be represented at these competitions by 24 athletes, including 17 boys and 7 girls: Loiq Qudbiddinov (-60kg, men’s); Saadi Mahmadov (-60kg, men’s); Khairullo Ghanizoda (-60kg, men’s), Somirsho Muhabbatov (-66kg, men’s); Umar Sherov (-66kg, men’s); Bobojon Muqtadiri (-66kg, men’s); Muhiddin Asadulloyev (-73kg, men’s); Ilhomiddin Jabborov (-73kg, men’s); Aminjon Abdujalilzoda (-81kg, men’s); Sunatullo Musoyev (-81kg, men’s); Muhammad Yusufzoda (-81kg, men’s); Musokhon Ghaniyev (-90kg, men’s); Musammir Karimzoda (-90kg, men’s); Parviz Abdurahmonov (-100kg, men’s); Muhsin Malayev (-100kg, men’s); Ahmad Tabarov (+100kg, men’s); Farahmand Ustopiriyon (+100kg, men’s); Zuhal Jumayeva (-48kg, women’s); Raihon Roziqzoda (-48kg, women’s); Madina Qurbonzoda (-52kg, women’s); Aleksandra Kan (-57kg, women’s); Rahmiya Khanjarbekova (-57kg, women’s); Jonona Nazarova (-63kg, women’s); and Viktoriya Kiselyova (+78, women’s).                          

Winners and runners-up will be awarded cash prizes: for 1st place – 2500 euros; for the second person – 1500 euros; and for the third place — 850 euros.

On October 6 there will be a mixed team tournament: 57, 70, +70kg (women); and 73, 90, +90kg (men).

The World Judo Juniors Championships are the highest level of international judo competition for juniors, 21 years of age or less.

The championships are held once every year (except the years when the Olympics take place) by the International Judo Federation, and qualified judoka compete in their respective categories as representatives of their home countries.

The World Juniors Championships are the only junior event awarding ranking points for the seniors world ranking list.  The last edition of the championships took place in Odivelas, Portugal in 2023.
