An extraordinary meeting of the company’s shareholders was held in Dushanbe under the chairmanship of Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzod, who heads the Supervisory Board of OJSC «Rogun Hydroelectric Power Station». As NIAT «Khovar» reports with reference to the secretariat of the Supervisory Board, the event was attended by members of the Board, representatives of ministries and departments, heads of audit commissions, shareholders and management of the company.
The central topics of discussion were the financing of the project – Rogun hydroelectric power station, which is strategically important for the country. Shareholders considered two key issues: the allocation of funds received from the sale of electricity generated by hydroelectric power plants to the interest distribution program, as well as the procedure for distributing income from the sale of electricity in both the domestic and foreign markets.
Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda emphasized that the construction of the Rogun hydroelectric power station is being carried out at an accelerated pace. Over the past two years alone, over 9 billion somoni have been allocated from the state budget for these purposes, which has made it possible to complete more than half of the construction work. The Government of Tajikistan is taking all necessary measures to ensure timely financing of the project, using various sources.
Currently, agreements on financing power plant facilities have been signed with six international organizations. In addition, active cooperation with a number of international financial institutions and development partners continues to attract concessional financing.
During the meeting, presentations were made by the General Director of OJSC «Rogun Hydroelectric Power Station» Khairullo Safarzoda and the Director of the Energy Construction Projects Implementation Group Pulod Muhiddiniyon. Based on the results of the discussion of agenda items, shareholders made appropriate decisions, the details of which were not disclosed.
