Tajikistan and Mongolia discuss strengthening bilateral relations in press conference

On July 24, President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan addressed representatives of both domestic and foreign media in a press conference following high-level talks between Tajikistan and Mongolia.  The conference, as reported on the official website of the Tajik president, provided a platform to outline the key topics discussed during the meetings.

In his statement, Rahmon highlighted that the discussions focused on the current state and future prospects for expanding bilateral relations between the two countries.  He emphasized the importance of addressing both global and regional issues within their cooperative framework.

The president also announced the signing of new cooperation documents, which are aimed at further solidifying the legal foundations for expanding relations across various sectors.  These agreements, he explained, will enhance the cooperation in trade, economics, culture, and humanitarian affairs, as well as other areas of mutual interest.

One of the key topics of conversation was the promotion of inter-parliamentary dialogue, with both sides agreeing on the importance of strengthening parliamentary diplomacy.  Rahmon noted that further collaboration in this field would contribute to more effective governance and understanding between the two nations.

Special attention was given to the development of trade and economic relations, with both countries expressing interest in establishing joint production enterprises, particularly in the light and food industries, agriculture, and livestock breeding.  These sectors, Rahmon suggested, represent promising opportunities for further cooperation.

In addition, the need for greater cooperation at the regional level was underscored, particularly in areas such as culture, science, education, youth, sports, and tourism.  Strengthening these ties would not only benefit the countries involved but also enhance regional stability and prosperity, Rahmon stated.

The discussions also included an in-depth focus on security concerns, particularly in addressing global and regional threats. Both countries reiterated their commitment to working together to mitigate risks and ensure a secure environment for their citizens.

Climate change was another critical issue raised during the talks. Both nations agreed on the importance of reducing its environmental impact and championing the "green" agenda. Rahmon added that the implementation of sustainable development goals would be a central focus moving forward.

Finally, Rahmon emphasized the constructive cooperation between Tajikistan and Mongolia within multilateral organizations, particularly the United Nations, noting that both countries continue to support each other on key global and regional issues.

In conclusion, the Tajik president reaffirmed the significance of the high-level talks in furthering the partnership between the two nations on the international stage, underlining their shared commitment to addressing pressing global challenges together.
