Chevening Scholarships are designed for individuals from diverse backgrounds who demonstrate the commitment and skills required to become future leaders. Applicants must present a viable plan for positive change in their home country and explain how a UK master’s degree will help them realize their vision.

The scholarship covers full financial support for any eligible master’s degree at over 150 UK universities, providing access to a broad range of exclusive academic, professional, and cultural experiences.

This year, the UK government has expanded the number of scholarships available for Central Asian countries. Fifteen scholars from Uzbekistan will embark on their transformative journey at leading UK institutions, including UCL, Queen Mary University of London, Warwick University, Birmingham University, University of Edinburgh, and University of Reading.

Their fields of study span from Public Administration and International Transportation and Trade to Comparative Education, Global Fashion Retailing, Health Management, and Creative Industries and Arts Organisation. One scholar will conduct research at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies.

“If you are passionate about driving change, whether locally or globally, if you want to be the best at what you do and you have the imagination to inspire others, then a Chevening Scholarship could be the perfect opportunity for you,” Timothy Smart, His Majesty’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, commented.

In addition, successful applicants have been sharing their experiences on social media using the hashtag #ChosenForChevening.

Applications for the Chevening Scholarships to study in the UK are open from 6 August to 5 November 2024. Prospective candidates can apply via chevening.org/apply.

Launched in 1983, Chevening Scholarships have grown into a prestigious international awards scheme, operating in Uzbekistan since 1994. The program, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organizations, supports one-year taught master’s degrees at UK universities for individuals with demonstrated potential to become future leaders. Over the past five years, Chevening has awarded over 8,000 scholarships, with more than 57,000 alumni globally forming an influential network.
